Nahalle optimaalisten pesuaineiden kartoitus

Abstract

Oy B Huhta Ab on Kokkolan seudulla toimiva käsinevalmista. Yrityksen päätuotteena on palomiehille suunniteltu nahkainen suojakäsine. Käsine täyttää nykyisen palokäsineiden EN:659:2003-standardin, NFPA-standardin sekä Nato-luokituksen. Yritys valmistaa erikoiskäsineitä pääasiassa julkisille ostajille ympäri maailmaa. Toiminnan tavoitteena on valmistaa laadukkaita, vaativien normien ja standardein mukaisia tuotteita.

Työn tarkoituksena oli löytää yrityksen valmistamalle suojakäsineelle sopiva pesuaine sekä tutkia yrityksen nykyisin käyttämän pesuaineen koostumus. Sopivaa pesuainetta etsittäessä oli erityisen tärkeää ottaa huomioon nahan asettamat vaatimukset. Käsine on valmistettu naudan, hirven sekä poron nahasta. Nahka on käsitelty palonkestäväksi, ja sen tarttumisominaisuudet ovat mahdollisimman hyvät. Pesuaineen soveltuvuutta tarkasteltaessa oli näiden ominaisuuksien pysyvyys otettava huomioon. Työssä kartoitettiin markkinoilla tähän käyttötarkoitukseen sopivat pesuaineet. Pesuaineet analysoitiin laboratoriossa käyttäen analyysimenetelmänä IR-laitteistoa, jolla tutkittiin pesuaineiden koostumusta sekä aineosia ja vertailtiin pesuaineita keskenään. Koepesujen perusteella arvioitiin pesuaineiden soveltuvuutta.

Oy B Huhta Ab is a producer of gloves in the Kokkola area. The main product of the company is a leather gauntlet, designed especially for firefighters. The glove conforms to the EN:659:3003-standard, NFP-standard and the classification of Nato. The company produces these special gloves mainly for general buyers all around the world. The company aims to produce products of good quality and standards.

The aim of this thesis was to find a suitable detergent for the gloves and to investigate the detergent that the company is using now. It was important to pay attention to the demands of leather while searching the detergent. The gloves are made of the leather of bovine, elk or reindeer. The leather has been treated to be fire-resistant and its contagion is as good as possible. These properties must be paid attention to when studying the suitability of detergents.

In this thesis the suitable detergents on the market were examined. The detergents were analysed in a laboratory by using an IR- analyser to investigate the consistency and components of detergents and to compare them. On the grounds of pilot washes the suitability of detergents was estimated.
