Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli arvioida ja kehittää Korson seurakunnan raamat-turyhmämateriaalia. Päivitettävä materiaali oli valmistunut keväällä 2014 ja sen kehittämisen tarve tuli Korson seurakunnan rippikoulutyöltä. Rippikoululaiset, isoset ja ohjaajat arvioivat raamatturyhmämateriaalia rippikou-lujen jälkeen. Isosten ja rippikoululaisten arviointi kerättiin lomakekyselyllä, jossa oli sekä strukturoituja kysymyksiä että avokysymyksiä. Ohjaajilta pyydettiin arviointia lomakkeella, jossa oli pelkästään avokysymyksiä. Kaikkiaan kyselylomakkeita palautui 201 rippikoululaiselta, 37 isoselta ja viideltä ohjaajalta. Vastaukset koottiin Excel-taulukkoon, josta ohjelman funktioiden avulla tarkasteltiin vastausten keskiarvoja, keskihajontaa ja korrelaatiota. Arvioinnin avulla raamatturyhmämateriaalia arvioitiin ja päivitettiin. Rippikoululaisilta kerätyssä aineistossa korostui pienryhmien ja yhteishengen merkitys. Rippikoululaisten mielestä Raamatun lukeminen ikätoverien kanssa oli mukavaa ja pienryhmien toiminnalliset tehtävät helpottivat Raamatun sisällön ymmärtämistä. Keskeisimmät kehittämishaasteet liittyivät raamatturyhmien käytännön toteutuksiin. Raamatturyhmiin kaivattiin lisää ryhmäyttämistä ja kokoontumiskertojen kestoa tuli tasoittaa. Sisällöllisesti materiaaliin kaivattiin lisää kokonaisuuksia vaihtoehdoiksi jo olemassa oleville. Lisäksi materiaalin kysymysten ja keskustelutehtävien ohjeistuksiin kaivattiin selkeyttämistä. Ohjaajien vastauksissa tärkeiksi asioiksi mainittiin materiaalin rippikouluoppitunneille antama tuki ja isosten oma materiaali. Arvioinnissa esiintyneitä positiivisia asiakokonaisuuksia pyrittiin ylläpitämään ja vahvistamaan päivitetyssä materiaalissa. Päivitetty materiaali on kaksiosainen kokonaisuus, jossa toinen osa on isosten materiaali ja toinen ohjaajan materiaali. Isosten materiaali sisältää yhdeksän teemaa, joita isoset käsittelevät yhdessä rippikoululaisten kanssa. Ohjaajan materiaali sisältää isosten omat raamatturyhmät, joiden tarkoituksena on antaa valmiuksia rippikoululaisille pidettäviin raamatturyhmiin.

The aim of the thesis was to evaluate and develop the small group Bible studies of the Korso Lutheran congregation. The small group Bible study material of the congregation was completed in the spring of 2014, and the request to improve that material came from the congregation's youth work department. The material for the developing work was gathered as an evaluation of the small group Bible studies. The research methods used for the evaluation were a multiple choice questionnaire and open questions related to the development. The multiple choice questionnaire was used for collecting feedback from the confirmands and young confirmed volunteers (YCVs). The evaluation from the youth workers was collected by using forms with open questions. The total amount of evaluations collected was 201 from the confirmands, 37 from the YVCs and 5 from the youth workers. In the confirmation camps of Korso congregation questionnaires were used to collect feedback about the small group Bible studies and their functionality. The averages, standard deviations and correlations of the answers were examined by using the mathematical functions of excel. The data that was collected in this manner was used to evaluate and develop the small group Bible studies. In their feedback the confirmands underscored the importance of peer groups and team spirit within the groups. They pointed out that reading the Bible with their peers was pleasant and that the functional exercises made it easier for them to understand the contents of the Bible. The most important challenge of development was related to the practical implementation of the small group Bi-ble studies. The respondents wanted more tasks to be included in the small group Bible studies and they wanted to standardize the duration of the small group Bible studies. The respondents also wanted to clarify the guidelines of the small group Bible studies. The youth workers felt that the small group Bible studies supported the teachings of the confirmation classes. They also men-tioned that the small group Bible studies were important for the YCVs. The goal in the updated small group Bible study material was to maintain and strengthen the most important things pointed out by the respondents in their evaluation. The updated material has two parts in it. The first part is for the YCVs and the second part for the youth workers. The material for the YCVs consists of nine themes, which are carried throughout the small group Bible studies. The material for the youth workers also consists of nine themes the purpose of which is to provide tools for the YCVs to lead the small group Bible studies for the confirmands.
