Patientsäkerhet : En kvalitativ litteraturstudie om patienterssäkerhet gällande fallolyckor och dess prevention

Abstract

Abstrakt Syftet med respondentens examnesarbete är att genom en litteraturstudie öka kunskapen inom fallolyckor och hur de påverkar patienten. Respondenten ville också ha reda på vad man som vårdare kan göra för att förebygga fallolyckor. Frågeställningarna är: Vad orsakas fallolyckorna av? Hur kan jag som sjukskötare förebygga fallolyckor? Som teoretisk utgångspunkt har respondenten valt att använda Lena Wiklunds bok Vårdvetenskap i klinisk praxis, som utgår från Katie Erikssons vårdteori om lidande men respondenten kommer också att använda Katie Erikssons teori om vårdetik. Den teoretiska bakgrunden består av litteratur gällande ämnet. De artiklar som används i resultatet är presenterade i en tabell. Metoden som använs för att analysera artiklarna är innehållsanalys. I resultatet kom respondenten fram till hur viktigt det är att jobba för patientsäkerhet och att minska på fallolyckorna. Orsaker till fallolyckorna kan vara mångmedicinering och dålig miljö för patienten. Skador som uppkommer vid fallolyckor kan vara mindre allvarliga eller till och med leda till döden. Slutligen orsakar fallolyckorna patienterna och deras familjer lidande och oro. Olika instrument finns också tillgängliga för att mäta risken för fallolycka hos en patient.

Summary The aim of this thesis is to through a literature study increase the respondents knowledge about falling accidents and how they influence on the patient. I also wanna know what the respondet as a nurse can do to prevent falling accidents. The research questions are: What causes the falling accidents? How can I as a nurse prevent falling accidents? In the theoretical starting points, the respondent chosed to use Lena Wiklunds book Vårdvetenskap I klinisk praxis, the theory proceeds from Katie Erikssons theory of suffering, the respondent is going to use also Katie Erikssons theory of careing ethics. In the theoretical background the respondent choosed to use material that concern the topic. Articles that are used in the results are presented in a table. The method that is used to analyse the articles is content analysis. In the results the respondet came to an conclution how important is it to work for patient safety and to prevent falling accidents. Reasons for falling accidents is multi-medications and the enviroment around the patient. The injuries, the falling accidents can cause the patient harms like bruses, wounds and bleedning from the wounds, but in worst case senario the patient can die from the accident. Falling accidents causes the patient and their families anxiety and suffering. Different instruments are available for how to messure the risk of falling for a patient.
