Alter Egos of the Four Elements : En kreativ studie om sminkningar av de fyra elementen inspirerade av makeup artisten Alex Box

Abstract

Syftet med detta arbete var att genom att ta inspiration av en makeupartist och de fyra elementen kunna skapa fyra sminkningar. Bilderna samlades sedan till en inspirationsbok. Med arbetet ville respondenten visa sina kunskaper inom makeup och kreativitet och hoppas på att kunna inspirera andra estenomer och personer inom skönhetsbranschen. Bilderna kan även fungera som portfolio för respondenten i framtiden. Frågeställningarna som respondenten använde sig av i detta arbete var: Syns det i slutresultatet att inspiration tagits från Alex Box? Och syns de fyra elementen i sminkningarna?

I den teoretiska grunden tas ämnena de fyra elementen enligt astrologin, makeup artisten Alex Box, makeup, färger och kreativitet upp. Som datainsamlingsmetod användes makeup och porträttfotografering. Bildanalys ändvändes som dataanalysmetod.

Resultatet visar att inspirationen från makeup artisten inte riktigt syns, men utan att ha tagit inspiration skulle arbetet ändå se väldigt annorlunda ut. Inspirationen syns ej på grund av att stylingarna inte är helt sammanhängande. Respondenten konstaterar att man måste tänka på att hår, smink och kläder hör samman för att skapa en fungerande helhet. De fyra elementens personligheter syns enligt respondenten i bilderna, men det kräver att man läser tolkningen för att förstår hur respondenten har tänkt. Respondenten kunde konstatera att hon varit kreativ. Respondenten anser även att hennes kunskaper i makeup kommer fram i arbete.

The purpose of this study was to, by taking inspiration from a makeup artist and the four elements, create four different makeup looks. The images were then collected into an inspirational book. With this study the respondent wanted to show her skills in makeup and creativity and she hopes to inspire others students and individuals within the beauty industry. The images can also function as a portfolio in the future. The questions that the respondent asked in sthe study were: Does it show in the result that the inspiration was taken from Alex Box? Can the four elements bee seened in the makeup looks?

In the theoretical foundations one can read about the following subjects: the four elements from an astological aspect, the makeup artist Alex Box, makeup, colors and creativity. As the data collection method the respondent used makeup and portrait photography. Picture analysis was used as an data analysis method.

The result shows that the inspiration from the makeup artist is not really visible, but without having taken inspiration the reslut would appear very different. The inspiration is not visible because the styling is not entirely contigourus. The respondent notes that one must have in mind that hair, makeup and clothes must go together to create a functioning entity. The four elements perosnalities are visible in the images, according to the respondent, but one has to read the interpretation to understand how the respondent was thinking.The respondent could conclude that she was creative. The respondent also believes that her knowledge of makeup is shown in her work.
