This thesis focused on the creation and optimisation of a website for Ilmalämpömestarit Oy, a company that specialises in selling and installations of air source heat pumps in Southwest Finland. The main objective was to establish an online presence for the company to enhance its marketing efforts and customer reach.
The background of this thesis underscores the importance of a digital presence for modern businesses, particularly for those involved in major purchase decisions like air source heat pumps. A comprehensive and trustworthy website can significantly influence consumer choices, positioning the company as a reliable expert in its field.
The theoretical framework includes an exploration of digital marketing, website design principles, and search engine optimisation (SEO) strategies. This framework guided the development process, ensuring that the website would not only be visually appealing but also user-friendly and optimised for search engines.
The implementation phase involved several project tasks: preparing the theoretical framework, developing a content map, creating website content, setting up the website, and evaluating the outcomes. The website was developed using a content-first approach, focusing on usability, navigation, visual appeal, and SEO. Feedback from the commissioning company and end-users was collected to refine the website further.
The project was completed over a timeline of several months, with significant milestones including the initial theoretical research, content creation, website setup, and final evaluations.
