| dc.description.abstract | Music significantly impacts young children's holistic development, enhancing cognitive, social emotional, physical, and language skills. This study delves into the advantages of incorporating music in early childhood education and care (ECEC) to bolster children's overall growth and well-being. Research underscores music's positive effects on brain development, language learning, social competencies, and emotional regulation. Activities like singing, dancing, and playing instruments enable self-expression, creativity, and social engagement.
The thesis presents a qualitative exploration of ECEC professionals' views on integrating music, revealing challenges like inadequate training and resources. It proposes a framework advocating for staff development, resource provision, and collaboration with music specialists to optimise music's impact in ECEC settings. Implementing this framework can establish a nurturing environment that nurtures children's holistic development through the enriching power of music. | - |
