Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transformed several industries, including healthcare, by streamlining tasks, enhancing decision-making, and minimizing errors. Even though these advantages are clear, there are still reservations about the use of AI with regards to ethics and data privacy in healthcare. Most research has focused on AI's benefits in urban areas, thus leaving gaps in understanding its’ role and impact in remote healthcare communities. This thesis aims is to investigate how AI benefits remote communities, healthcare workers’ perception of AI and its role in reducing the service disparities between rural and urban areas. The results will help assess AI’s potential in promoting equitable healthcare and improving patient outcomes in remote areas.
