Teknisten investointien toiminnallisten tavoitteiden jälkiseuranta : VAASAN Oy

Abstract

Insinöörityössä tutustutaan VAASAN Oy:n Vantaan leipomon kehityshankkeeseen sisältyneisiin pääinvestointeihin. Pääinvestoinnit ovat uusi laatikoiden käsittelyjärjestelmä, annostelujärjestelmän laajennus sekä uusi ruokaleipälinja. Tavoitteena oli seurata pääinvestointien sen hetkistä toimintaa tuotannossa, verrata tuloksia ennakkoon asetettuihin tavoitteisiin, selvittää järjestelmissä tapahtuneiden häiriöiden aiheuttajat sekä laatia kehityssuunnitelma.

Työssä käytettiin tutkimusmenetelmänä tapaustutkimusta. Tutkimusaineisto kerättiin tuotannossa suoritetuista havainnoinneista, haastatteluista sekä aihetta käsittelevistä kirjallisuus- ja artikkeliteoksista. Teoriaosiossa käsiteltiin investointeja, tuotantolaitoksien strategiaa sekä elintarviketeollisuuden ja leipomoteollisuuden nykyistä tilannetta. Investointien kannattavuutta selvittäessä voidaan käyttää joko kustannuksiin tai toiminnallisiin ominaisuuksiin perustuvia mittareita. Empiiriosassa tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli seurata toiminnallisia tavoitteita ja niiden toteutumista. Mittareina toimivat järjestelmien ennalta asetetut kapasiteetit.

Keskeisimmät tulokset olivat havaittujen häiriöiden perusteella laaditut kehitysehdotukset sekä nykytila-analyysin tulokset. Nykytila-analyysin tarkoituksena oli selkeyttää yritykselle sen hetkinen tilanne sekä kartoittaa yleisemmät järjestelmissä esiintyvät häiriöt ja ongelmakohdat. Merkittävänä asiana oli myös ymmärtää vuosien 2012–2013 aikana tunnistettu investointitarve ja investointien toteuttamisiin johtavat syyt.

Työn tulosten pohjalta yritys näkee investointien nykytilan ja toiminnan. Yritys pystyy sen perusteella miettimään tarvittavia korjaustoimenpiteitä tai huoltoinvestointeja. Kehitysehdotuksien avulla pyritään vaikuttamaan häiriöiden määrän laskuun ja järjestelmien sujuvampaan toimintaan sekä niiden kautta tuotannon läpimenoaikojen, kustannusten, joustavuuden ja laadun arvojen parantamiseen.

This thesis examines the main investments of the development project of VAASAN Oy's bakery in Vantaa. The main investments were a new box handling system, expansion of the dosing system and a new production line of bread. The goal was to follow the function of the main investments in the current manufacture, to compare the results to the pre-set objectives, to investigate the cause of disruption in the systems as well as to prepare a development plan.

The main research method of this thesis was the case study research. The research data were collected through observation in manufacture, interviews as well as literature and article reviews on the subject. The theory part dealt with investments, the strategy of production plants and the present state of the food and bakery industry. When measuring the profitability of investments, either instruments based on costs or operational objectives can be used. In the empirical part the goal of the research was to follow the operational objectives and how they act in practice. The pre-set capacities of the systems operated as measurements.

The primary result of this thesis was the development plan which was drawn up through the detected disruptions and the current state analysis results. The main goal of the current state analysis was to clarify the situation for the organization and to recognize possible disruption and problem areas, which often occurred in the system. It was also significant to understand the investment necessity which was recognized in 2012–2013, and the reason why the investments were made.

Based on the results, the company can see the current status and operation of the investments and think of the necessary corrective measures or maintenance investments. With the help of the development suggestions the aim is to have an effect on lowering the amount of disruptions, more fluent operation of the systems and through them improve the rates of production lead time, costs, flexibility and quality.
