This thesis is carried out on behalf of Wärtsilä Energy. At present, the procurement plan for the civil engineering scope of projects is created manually. The purpose of this thesis is to develop an automated software tool to support and streamline the work of project engineers within the civil department. The scope will be limited to the civil engineering and procurement of Wärtsilä Energy Powerplants.
The objective is to create an automated tool that facilitates the work of civil project engineers. The study will examine different software's compatibility with existing procurement systems, such as SAP, with the aim of enabling automated data exchange between the programs. For example, a row in the software Microsoft Excel could be linked directly to a position in SAP, as well as connections to scope of supply and products. This process is currently performed manually and is intended to be more automated.
The developed tool is expected to simplify the procurement process for the civil team at Wärtsilä and significantly reduce the associated manual workload. If successful, the system could be adopted and used as part of the company’s daily operations, as well as to follow up the budget easily during the projects with this automated and updated software. Detta examensarbete genomförs på uppdrag av Wärtsilä Energy Powerplants. I dagsläget upprättas inköpssplanen för civila delen av projekten manuellt. Syftet är att utveckla ett automatiserat verktyg som ska stödja och effektivisera projektingenjörernas arbete inom civilavdelningen. Omfattningen begränsas till civilingenjör och upphandling inom Wärtsilä Energy Powerplants.
Målet är att skapa ett automatiserat verktyg som underlättar arbetet för projektingenjörer. Studien kommer att undersöka olika programvarors kompatibilitet med befintliga upphandlingssystem, såsom SAP, i syfte att möjliggöra automatiserat datautbyte mellan programmen. Exempelvis skulle en rad i Microsoft Excel kunna kopplas direkt till en position i SAP, liksom till kopplingar mot leveransomfattning och produkter. Denna process utförs i dag manuellt och avses att automatiseras i högre grad.
Det framtagna verktyget kan förenkla upphandlingsprocessen för civil-teamet på Wärtsilä och avsevärt minska den manuella arbetsbelastningen. Om det blir framgångsrikt kan systemet införlivas i företagets dagliga verksamhet och användas för att på ett enklare sätt följa upp budgeten under projektets gång, med hjälp av denna automatiserade och uppdaterade programvara.
