The aim of this thesis is to study the subject of tax planning in pharmacies in the best possible way. Since pharmacy business has to be practiced as a sole trader planning is an important part of pharmacy taxation. Nowadays many pharmacists choose to start a limited company on the side of the pharmacy business and move a part of the activity to the limited company. For this reason I have chosen to study how this effects the taxation. The theoretical part of the study deals with how a sole trader and a limited company are being taxed. Besides I will describe what a pharmacy is and what separates pharmacies from other sole traders. In the study I have counted step by step the taxation for Company X, having a limited company. I the end of my thesis I compare what the taxation would look like in Company X if the pharmacy didn´t have a limited company on the side. The results of the study show that concerning taxation it is more advantageous for Company X to have a limited company on the side. If the company didn´t have a limited company on the side the taxation amount would be bigger. As it concerns a bigger pharmacy it is consequently advantageous for the sole trader to have a limited company on the side.
