Abstract
The aim of the thesis is to find out if there would be a potential for a fishing trip package offered to KHL ice-hockey match spectators visiting Helsinki. Tis thesis was commissioned by Fishing Lords Ltd. which is company providing different activity programs but specializing in fishing trips. The research target group was spectators/fans of the ice-hockey team SKA Saint Petersburg. Besides the interest for the fishing trip package, the needs and motives of the target group will be researched. The purpose of thesis is to support the commissioner in developing a new fishing trip package with the help of the study results. Theoretical framework consists of the motives for leisure travellers, fishing tourism and sports event tourism.

In this thesis both quantitative and qualitative research were used. The method for quantitative research was a questionnaire survey and for qualitative research was made by interviews. Formed interviews were conducted at Jokerit-SKA ice-hockey game at Hartwall arena in Helsinki on 5th of January 2015. There were ten participants in the interview. The data for questionnaire survey was collected with Webropol online survey tool from 6th of February to 4th of March 2015.

The result of thesis was that there is demand for fishing trip among SKA St. Petersburg spectators. Research showed that potential customers for the new fishing trip product were Russian family travellers and groups of friends. From the point of view of the theoretical framework and research results there are development and follow-up action proposals based on the information collected from the target group. The suggestion for family travellers is an all-inclusive fishing trip package in which the main theme would be relaxation, being together and getting out of the everyday routines. The suggestion for group of friends is to create experiences including the feeling of exceeding one`s limits and different kinds of program services.
