Varhaiskasvatuksen perhetyön saavutettavuus vanhempien näkökulmasta

Abstract

Opinnäytetyömme tavoitteena on lisätä tietoa varhaiskasvatuksen perhetyöstä ja perhetyöntekijän työnkuvasta. Tuomme esille vanhempien näkökulmaa ja osallisuutta siihen, miten perhetyöntekijä ja tukea tarvitseva perhe parhaiten kohtaisivat.

Opinnäytetyömme tarkastelee varhaiskasvatuksen perhetyötä vanhempien nä-kökulman kautta. Keskitymme erityisesti varhaiskasvatuksen perhetyön saavu-tettavuuteen ja alkuvaiheeseen. Työmme lähtökohta on vahvasti ennaltaehkäisevä ja matalaa kynnystä korostava. Vanhempien näkemyksiä esiin tuomalla saamme tietoa siitä, missä tilanteissa tukea tarvittaisiin, mitä kautta tuen piiriin voisi hakeutua ja miten vanhemmat kokevat tuen piiriin hakeutumisen.

Työssämme on piirteitä kvalitatiivisesta ja kvantitatiivisesta tutkimusmenetel-mästä. Aineiston keräsimme kyselylomakkeella internetissä Kempeleen kunnan päiväkotien Muksu-netin kautta. Kysely toteutettiin Webropol- ohjelman avulla. Kyselyymme vastasi 33 vanhempaa ja analysoimme heidän vastauksensa si-sällönanalyysillä. Opinnäytetyömme teoria osuudessa käsittelemme vanhem-muuteen ja perheeseen sekä varhaiskasvatuksen perhetyöhön liittyvää teoriaa.

Vanhempien tietoisuudessa varhaiskasvatuksen perhetyöstä on eroja. Ennalta-ehkäisevän työn ja varhaisen puuttumisen merkitykset nousevat esiin vanhempien vastauksissa. Vastausten pohjalta käymme läpi sitä, miksi kynnys hakeutua palvelujen piiriin on suhteellisen korkea. Varhaiskasvatuksen perhe-työntekijän palveluja tulee kunnassa kehittää niin, että ne kohtaavat tuentarpeessa olevat oikea-aikaisesti.

The purpose of our Bachelor´s thesis is to increase knowledge of early childhood family work and the tasks of family workers. We bring out the parents´ point of view and par-ticipation in how the needs of the families and the support of family workers would face better.

Our Bachelor´s thesis examines the early childhood family work through the parent´s perspective. We focus especially in the early stages and accessibility of early childhood family work. The basis of our thesis is strongly preventive and emphasizing the low threshold. By bringing up the parents views we get information about the situations in which support is needed, how support is sought and what the parents´ experience of applying the support is.

Our Bachelor´s thesis has both qualitative and quantitative research methods. The ma-terial for the study was collected by using an internet questionnaire through the Muksu-net of Kempele day care. The inquiry was implemented through Webropol-program. 33 parents answered our questionnaire and we analyzed the results by the content analy-sis method. The theoretical part of our Bachelor's thesis consists of material relating to parenthood, family and early childhood family work and support.

There are differences in how much parents know about early childhood family work. The meanings of the preventive work and early intervention are raised by the parents´ responses. On the basis of the replies we clear up why the threshold to look for the services is relatively high. Early childhood family worker services should be developed for well-timed aid.
