Tiivistelmä
Continuing with our efforts to transfer knowledge to practitioners, we at the MUrCS Project are pleased to present the fifth volume of the Student Thesis Projects to highlight student research on the sustainable management of urban climate. These works exemplify the MUrCS ethos of three-pronged learning (Science of climate change, addressed within the Urban Planning sphere and cognisant of Management challenges to climate mitigation and adaptation). Together, these efforts showcase the possibility of creating a ‘new professional’ able to understand, plan and lead urban actions needed to tackle urban climate change in our time of transformation which needs interdisciplinary approaches and integration of stakeholder activities. A key goal of the MUrCS project is to exchange research-based knowledge among all stakeholders of the cities that we are based in. The present volume serves as a key part in this and we hope it is of interest to urban practitioners and policy makers to enhance urban environmental quality in the face of local and global climate change
