Background: This literature review is about mental health challenges that international nursing students face. The aim was to explore what these challenges are, the causes of the challenges and what else they affect. By recognizing the research, it was a way of suggesting ways to improve and provide support to international nursing students.
Task and Objectives: Used a narrative literature review and used of analysis method with a research question that was made around the PICO framework, the study searched, screened, and analyzed publications from 2014 to 2025, using databases such as PubMed and CINAHL.
Implementation method: After analysing 9 extracted study research, the themes influencing challenges faced by international nursing students, three main categories were identified from it, which were adaptation problems, cognitive burden and negative affective states.
Result: The findings highlighted the importance of improving university facilities to cater to the well-being of international nursing students. The collaboration between the students and the facility is an important factor, as it may break down barriers and enhance a support team for them, thereby building their self-esteem.
Conclusion: Emphasizing a psychological approach, and a support system in the universities and more study materials that will significantly improve the mental health and well-being of international nursing students.
