Tiivistelmä
Judo on yksi maailman suosituimmista kamppailulajeista. Suomessa judon harrastajia on runsaasti, ja judotoiminta on hyvin aktiivista. Suomessa on vuosittain paljon judokilpailuja, koulutuksia ja leirejä. Joensuuhun judo saapui 1960-luvulla ja judoseura Joen Yawara ry perustettiin kesällä 1968.
Vuonna 2018 Joen Yawara ry täytti 50 vuotta. Edellisten vuosikymmenten tapaan tätä 50-vuotista taivalta haluttiin juhlistaa järjestämällä tapahtuma, esimerkiksi leiri tai kilpailu. Tapahtumia järjestettiin lopulta kaksi, juhlaleiri Joensuun urheilutalolla sekä tiivishenkinen iltajuhla Joensuun Teatteriravintolassa. Tapahtumat järjestettiin lokakuussa 2018 eri viikonloppuina.
Viikonlopun mittaisella leirille osallistui useita kymmeniä judon harrastajia.
Judo is one of the most popular martial arts in the world. There are plenty of judo enthusiasts in Finland, and judo activity is very active. Many judo competitions, training seminars and camps are organized in Finland every year. Judo arrived in Joensuu in the 1960s and the judo club Joen Yawara ry was founded in the summer of 1968.
In 2018, Joen Yawara ry turned 50 years. As in previous decades, this 50-year-old journey was celebrated by organizing an event. The alternative events to be organized included a camp or a competition. Eventually two events were organized, a celebration judo camp at Joensuu Urheilutalo and an intimate evening party at Joensuu Teatteriravintola. The events were held in October 2018 on different weekends.
Several dozen judo enthusiasts attended the camp during the weekend. The camp was also the subject of a feedback survey aimed at mapping the participants' opinions on and the success of the camp. The expectations of all respondents were exceeded but could have been improved in smaller details. A camp organization guidebook was created after the camp to help organize camps in the future.
About 30 people attended the evening party. There were also people from Joen Yawara ry as well as from neighboring clubs. The evening program included a dinner, speeches and a slideshow. The evening party was very warm and intense and successful.
