Tiivistelmä
The topic of this Bachelor’s thesis is “Role of Educators: Creating an Emotional Safety in Day Care Centers”. The purpose of this study is to present what emo-tional safety means, the importance of emotional safety, situations that can compromise it and also how educators can create emotional safety in day care centers.
The thesis is based on qualitative research. Data was gathered by conducting an unstructured interview with three educators and one director of day care. The questions for the interview were open, which helped the educators to share their views on the theme in depth.
The study gives valuable information about early childhood education and care and child and emotional safety. The study tells the reader how the actions of the people around a child have a great impact on the child’s emotions.
At the completion of this study I am hoping that the results will give grounds for further studies who take interest in emotional safety in day care centers.
