Tiivistelmä
The thesis was done with the support of MP Logistics to find out the necessity of sustainability for road transportation/delivery service in a developing city. The thesis also shows how to apply the sustainable system and how applicable the system is. The thesis is based on concepts, theory as well as surveys to answers the research questions, in which Ho Chi Minh city situation was mentioned multiple times as a base for theory.
Both the quantitative and qualitative methods were conducted using questionnaires/surveys. The surveys were conducted online using Google forms with the help of relatives, friends, MP Logistics employees for answers. Customers’ surveys were made in an objective and general manner to gain insight into the city’s transportation service situation while employees’ surveys were done in a subjective manner that expects ideas about the technology, system.
The results of the thesis include the necessity of a sustainable system for both company and the city, the customers’ point of view in applying the new system, the application of a new system through technology, the difficulties and applicability of the technology, and suggestions for application of technology.
