The future of hygienic design was shown at the biannual EHEDG World Congress

Abstract

The EHEDG World Congress 2024 'Achieving hygienic excellence by design' was held on October 2-3, 2024 in Nantes, France. The congress was opened by the EHEDG President Hein Timmerman. The topics at the EHEDG World Congress dealt mainly with hygienic design (HD) and food safety. Here, more than 300 global experts, innovators, and professionals gathered to explore the latest advancements in food safety. At this two-day event there were 17 plenary session presentations and 16 presentations given in breakout sessions. Furthermore, there were a poster session, and three sponsor tours arranged during the congress. In one of the booths hygienic flooring materials were shown. A summary of ten presentations given in the plenary sessions ia given below. The presentations focused on sustainability, productivity, cleaning and disinfection. The congress dinner was held on 2nd of October in the museum Machines de l’Ile.
