Erityistä tukea tarvitsevien opiskelijoiden avustaminen ja ohjaaminen VALMA-koulutuksessa : Toiminnallinen opas Validia Ammattiopiston uusien työntekijöiden perehdyksen tukemiseksi

Abstract

Tämän opinnäytetyön tilaaja on Validia Ammattiopisto. Validia Ammattiopisto on yksi seitsemästä erityisammattiopilaitoksesta Suomessa, sen pääkampus sijaitsee Järvenpäässä. Kaikilla Validia Am-mattiopistossa opiskelevilla opiskelijoilla on erityisopetuksen tarve ja perusteet.

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena on tuottaa opas, mikä tukee uusien avustajien ja ohjaajien perehtymistä työhön. Opas on tarkoitettu VALMA koulutuksessa työskenteleville avustajille ja ohjaajille. Avustajat ja ohjaajat työskentelevät moniammatillisessa työyhteisössä, jonka tarkoituksena on luoda tukea tarvitseville opiskelijoille turvallinen ja kannustava oppimisympäristö. Työn tavoitteena on opiskelijan ohjaaminen, avustaminen ja tukeminen oppimisprosessin eri vaiheissa siten, että opiskelijan itsenäisyys ja omatoimisuus korostuvat. Avustajan ja ohjaajan työn lisäksi oppaassa käsitellään erilaisten vamma-ryhmien tarpeita, tukemista ja kuntoutusta. Kuntoutus on yksi tärkeä osa erityisopiskelijan opetusta, koska jos kuntoutusta ei toteudu, opintojen eteneminen on haastavaa.

Teoriaosuudessa olen kertonut tilaajan historiasta, nykypäivästä ja toiminta ajatuksesta, koska on tärkeää, että työn lukija tietää, mistä ammattiopistosta on kyse ja miten erityisammattiopisto eroa tavallisesta ammattiopistosta. Lisäksi teoriaosuudessa olen avannut mitä tarkoittaa ohjaus ja kuinka tärkeä osa se on opiskelijoiden opintojen tukemisessa.

Tietopohjana olen käyttänyt paljon erilaista kirjallisuutta, lisäksi myös luotettavia internet lähteitä esim. ADHD – liitto, Opetushallituksen sivut jne. Prosessin tuloksena on opas, jonka pitäisi helpottaa niin uusien työntekijöiden perehtymistä työhön, kun esimiestahon luomaan perehtymiskäytäntöjä.

Validia Vocational College, located in Järvenpää, Finland, is a vocational college providing vocational training and education for students with special needs. The student body in Validia has the estab-lished need for special vocational education. Validia Vocational College is one of the 7th special needs Vocational College in Finland. The objective of this thesis is to develop a guidebook, that helps new assistants and tutors to orien-tate themselves with the work. The guidebook is meant for assistants and tutors for VALMA – educa-tion. Assistants and tutors work in a multiprofessional work group, that provides students a safe and encouraging learning enviroment. The purpose of the work is to quide, asisst and support the stu-dents during the different levels of their learning process, especially emphasizing their independence and self iniative. As well as the work of assistants and tutors the guidebook handles the needs, the support and the rehabilitation of the different type of special needs. Rehabilitation is an important part of the education of the students with special needs. Without rehabilitation the studies become challenging.

Since it is importante that the reader knows what kind of vocational proviter the study is dealing with and what the difference is between a regular vocational school and a special needs vocational school, theory part of the study discribes the history, the present and missionge of the Validia Voca-tional Collage. The theory also discrube what quidance means and how importante part of the support of the stu-dents it is.

As the theoretical backround I have used many differents kinds of refferences, as well as reliable internet sites such as ADHD –association and the Finnish National Board of Education edc.

The result of the process is a guidebook that helps the orientation of new employees and the devel-opment of new orientation practises for the supervisors
