This study investigates the effects of parental involvement in youth sports and physical activities from the parent’s point of view. The study was carried out in collaboration with 09 Helsinki Human Rights and the Quantitative research method in the form of an online survey was used in understanding the subject matter. The participant of the survey were parent of the youth who are participant of 09 Helsinki Human Rights activities. The survey was distributed to thirty-five parents and seven parents responded to the survey. The combination of the research methods, theoretical framework, and previous literature on the subject matter led to the finding that parental involvement can affect both the parents and the youth in both positive and negative ways.
Based on the finding, the research concluded that parental involvement in youth sports and physical activities is necessary but there is a need for some degree of regulation. Due to the existence of some limitations as far the investigation is concern, the research ends up by providing some recommendation for future research and to sporting institutions and also outlines the professional development of the student during the whole process.
