”Kehitysvammaisten hiljaisuuden päivä” on kehittämistehtävä, jonka suunnittelu, toteutus ja arviointi toteutettiin työelämälähtöisenä opinnäytetyönä. Tehtävä painottui toiminnalliseen osuuteen, Hiljaisuuden päivään, joka toteutettiin 26.4.2017 yhteistyössä Turun Diakoniakeskuksen kehitysvammatyön diakoniatyön asiakkaille pilottihankkeena.
Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli suunnitella ja toteuttaa Hiljaisuuden päivä, jossa kartoitetaan kehitysvammaisten mielenkiintoa osallistua hiljaisuuden retriitteihin, ja kehittää sitä jatkossa kehitysvammaisille sopivaksi kvalitatiivisen kyselyn perusteella. Päivän tavoitteena oli saadun palautteen pohjalta harkita, voidaanko varsinaista retriittiä toteuttaa jatkossa.
Opinnäytetyössä yhdistyvät toiminnan suunnittelu ja käytännön toteutus sekä prosessin raportointi tutkimussuunnitelman keinoin, tarkoituksena kehittää työelämää käytännöllisen toiminnan keinoin.
Hiljaisuuden päivän ohjelma koostui johdatuksesta hiljaisuuteen kappelissa, rukouksesta, aamupalasta, lounaasta, helmiaskartelusta ja luonnossa kulkemisesta, hiljaisuuden polusta mietelauseineen ja tehtävineen, hiljaisesta huoneesta, laulutuokiosta, rentoutumishetkestä ja palautehetkestä. Saadun palautteen perusteella suuri osa oli tyytyväisiä päivän antiin, ja saimme myös hyviä kehittämisehdotuksia osallistujilta. Tämä oli ainutlaatuinen pilottihanke, ja saamamme palautteen perusteella saimme uskoa ja rohkaisua siihen, että hiljaisuuden päivälle on myös jatkossa oma paikkansa.

A Day of Silence for the Intellectually Disabled

"A Day of Silence for the Intellectually Disabled", is a task, which planning, implementation and evaluation were carried out as a development task and a work-oriented thesis. The task was focused on the functional part a Day of Silence, which was carried out 26.4.2017 as a pilot project in co-operation with the development of diaconal work of the Turku Diocese, Finland.
The purpose of the thesis was to plan and implement a Day of Silence, which mapped the interest of intellectually disabled people to participate in the retreat of silence. The purpose was to develop it being suitable for the intellectually disabled using a qualitative questionnaire in the future. The aim was to take the Day of Silence as an introductory opportunity to consider whether the actual retreats could be carried out in the future if there is interest based on the participants’ feedback.
The thesis combines action planning and practical implementation, as well as the process reporting through the research plan, with the aim of developing working life through the use of activities.
The programme of the Day of Silence consisted of as follows: the guidance of silence in the chapel, prayer, breakfast, lunch, hobby crafts with pearls, wandering in the nature, Path of Silence with aphorisms and tasks, quiet room, singing, a moment of relaxation and a moment of feedback. On the basis of the feedback received, most of the participants welcomed the day and good development proposals from the participants were also received. This was a unique pilot project and, based on the feedback, faith and encouragement were obtained so that the Day of Silence will have its place also in the future.
