Tiivistelmä
Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli tutkia maahan muuttaneiden naisten kokemuksia Hakeva-hankkeen digipajoista. Digitaidoilla on merkittävä rooli kotoutumisen ja osallisuuden toteutumisessa. Helsingin työväenopiston Hakeva-hankkeen tavoitteena on ollut järjestää digitaitoja vahvistavaa koulutusta henkilöille, joilla on puutteelliset perustaidot digiosaamisessa. Opinnäytetyön kohderyhmänä olivat maahan muuttaneet naiset, jotka ovat tällä hetkellä kotiäitejä. Tutkimuksen tuloksia hyödynnetään Hakeva-hankkeen raportoinnissa.
Opinnäytetyö oli muodoltaan määrällinen ja laadullinen. Hakeva-hankkeen digipajojen osallistujille laadittiin sähköinen kyselylomake. Kysely toteutettiin keväällä 2021. Tutkimusaineistoon sisältyi lisäksi hankkeen työntekijän sekä sitä, miten digipajojen opettajien ja vertaisohjaajien puolistrukturoidut haastattelut. Haastattelut toteutettiin myös keväällä 2021.
Tutkimuskysymykset koskivat digipajoihin osallistuneiden naisten kokemuksia opetuksesta sekä miten digipajoja voidaan kehittää vastaamaan kohderyhmän tarpeita. Kyselylomakkeiden tuloksia sekä haastattelujen litterointeja analysoitiin etsimällä vastauksia näihin tutkimuskysymyksiin.
Kyselylomakkeen tulokset osoittivat, että digipajat koettiin hyödylliseksi ja niitä toivottiin lisää. Osallistujien lähtötasot digitaitojen ja suomen kielen suhteen olivat vaihtelevia, mutta halu ja tarve vahvistaa digitaitoja oli yhteinen. Sähköisen asioinnin sekä eri sovellusten käyttö tuottaa monilla haasteita. Haastattelujen tulokset korostivat vertaistuen ja turvallisen ilmapiirin merkitystä. Naisten itsenäisen toiminnan tukeminen on koettu tärkeäksi, sillä se edistää kotoutumista merkittävästi. Digipajojen kehittämiseksi suunnitteilla on jatkaa Hakeva-hankkeen toimivia toteutusmuotoja sekä toteuttaa uusia kokeiluja useiden yhteistyökumppaneiden kanssa.

Digital skills have a significant role in inclusion and integration. The Hakeva project run by the Adult Education Centre of the City of Helsinki, offers digital learning courses for people who need support in basic digital skills. The target group for this thesis were immigrant women who are currently stay-at-home mothers. The results of this thesis will be used in the Hakeva project reports.
The research methods of the thesis were qualitative and quantitative. The participants of the digital workshops filled in an online questionnaire in the spring of 2021. Our research data also included interviews with the Hakeva project’s employee, the digital workshop teachers and group facilitators.
The research questions of the thesis focus on the women’s experiences of the digital workshops and how the workshops could be developed in the future to better serve the participants’ needs. The answers from the questionnaires as well as the transcripts of the interviews were analysed from the viewpoint of these questions.
The results of the questionnaire indicated that the digital workshops were useful to the participants and there is a demand for more digital teaching. The starting level of the participants in terms of digital skills and Finnish language skills varies greatly. All the participants share a need and desire to strengthen their digital skills. The use of online services and various applications were found to be very challenging. The interviews emphasised the importance of peer support and a safe learning environment. Supporting the independence of the women in handling their affairs is central for integration. The Hakeva project aims to develop their digital workshops in the future by continuing formats of digital workshops that have been found to be successful as well as trying out new formats with different partner organisations.
