Tiivistelmä
Suomessa on paljon hoitoa tarvitsevia ikääntyneitä, joiden palveluiden tarve on kasvanut. Lisääntynyt teknologian käyttö hoitotyössä mahdollistaa ihmisten asumisen kotonaan pidempään. Teknologian käytön kotihoidonpiirissä on huomattu nostaneen palveluiden laatua ja helpottaneen hoitajien työskentelyä. (Evondos, 2020.)
Opinnäytetyö käsittelee Vantaan kotihoidon eri yksiköiden työntekijöiden kokemuksia teknologian käytöstä hoitotyössä ja sen eettisyydestä. Tarkoituksena on selvittää hoitohenkilökunnan ajatuksia, tietoja ja kokemuksia teknologian käytöstä ja sen eettisyydestä. Tavoitteena on tuoda tietoa hoitohenkilökunnan näkökulmasta teknologian käytöstä kotihoidon hoitotyössä: Koetaanko laitteet hyödylliseksi ja kannattaako niiden käyttöä jatkaa, onko perehdytys tärkeää, onko laitteet eettisiä ja koetaanko ne turvalliseksi.
Aineisto kerättiin kyselylomakkeilla kolmesta eri Vantaan kotihoidon yksiköstä. Kyselylomakkeet toimitettiin paperiversioina jokaiseen yksikköön. Aineiston analyysitapana käytettiin laadullista sisällönanalyysia.
Kotihoidon työntekijöistä suurin osa oli käyttänyt kysyttyjä laitteita ja liki valtaosa koki saaneensa riittävän opastuksen niihin. Vähiten käytössä olevat laitteet, elektroniset lukot ja lattiahälytykset, kaipasivat vastausten perusteella eniten opastusta. Haasteina vastaajat näkivät ikäihmisten teknologian käytössä muistisairaudet, tottumattomuuden, ikäihmisten toimintakyvyn kuten aistien ja motoriikan riittävyyden sekä fyysisen ympäristön. In Finland, there are many elderly people who need health care and whose need for these services has increased. The increasing use of technology at care work enables the elderly to live longer at their home. The use of technology in the home care district was noticed to increase the quality of services and made the nurses work easier.
This thesis describes the employee’s experiences on the use of technology and its ethics in different units of home care in the city of Vantaa. The aim was to find out the nurses’ thoughts, knowledge, and experiences in using the technology and its ethics. The purpose was to bring up the information about the technology use at home care from the nurse’s perspective. Focus was on whether the devices are experienced to be useful, should their use continue, the introduction is important, are the devices ethical and are they experienced to be safe?
The data were collected by questionnaires from three different units of City of Vantaa home care. The questionnaires were submitted in a paper version to every unit. For data analysis was used the content analysis.
Results of the study were that most of the employees in home care had used the devices in question and many of them experienced to have received enough guidance on them. Based on the answers, the least used devices were electronic locks and floor alarms, and they also needed the most guidance. The respondents saw as a challenge in the use of technology for the elderly the dementia, unfamiliarity, the elder person's functional capacities such as the sufficiency of senses and motor skills and the physical environment.
