Tiivistelmä
Kehittämispainotteisen opinnäytetyömme tuotos on potilasohjausvideo, jonka tarkoitus on edistää potilaan terveyttä antamalla tietoa rintojen pienennysleikkauksen hoitopolusta.
Potilasohjausvideo on toteutettu PowerPoint-dioilla. Se on kolmen minuutin kestoinen videoesitys. Kuvamateriaalina on käytetty Papunetin kuvapankin kuvia. Videon tarkoitus on toimia hyödyllisenä tietolähteenä aiheesta, josta on vähän luotettavaa tietoa saatavilla. The product of this development-oriented thesis is a patient guidance video. The purpose of the patient guidance video is to promote the patients’ health by providing information on the clinical pathway of breast reduction surgery. The target group for the video consists of patients that are planning on having or have undergone surgery, their relatives and people interested and invested in the subject. The thesis project is produced in cooperation with Tunne Rintasi ry. (Know your breasts association).
The theoretical framework for the thesis project was researched by reviewing health, nursing and medical publications from the CINAHL, Medic, Medline, NIH-National library of Medicine and ProQuest databases as well as the Finna search service database for scientific articles, research and dissertations.
The thesis considers the individual need of those suffering from large breasts and informs about the possibility of treatment. The video presents information accessibly and offers reliable information sources. The thesis report serves as a comprehensive source of information on breast reduction surgery and its treatment pathway.
The project implemented a survey which had eight respondents. Four of the respondents were planning to undergo surgery and four had already undergone surgery. The aim of the survey was to shed light on the transformations in the quality of life before and after breast reduction surgery. The material gathered by the survey was analysed by using the thematic analysis method, and the material was utilized in designing the produced patient guidance video.
The patient guidance video was implemented as PowerPoint slides. It is a three-minute video presentation. Images from Papunet image bank were used as artwork. The purpose of the video is to work as a useful source of information on a topic of which little reliable information is available.
