Tiivistelmä
Human resources communication is an important part of the internal communication. It consists of communication on people topics such as development and training, well-being, employment, and any topics affecting the employee experience. The goal of human resources communication is to develop the company culture and employee experience, in addition to supporting the implementation of the people processes. However, communication of human resources function is not usually systematically planned, instead handled among other tasks. The relevance of this thesis is justified through these facts.
The thesis aimed to find solutions for how the client's local HR administration can develop its communications into a planned entity that would better meet the needs of the personnel in the future, considering the systematic approach, but also the limited resources of the HR function. The research problem was: How human resources communication can be developed to better serve the needs of personnel, considering systematic planning and implementation, but also HR function resources?
The knowledge base of the thesis covers e.g., internal communication, strategic and dialogical communication, responsibility, the future, and human resources communications. The thesis focuses only on the communication that the company's human resources administration implements and produces.
Different surveys as a method gave a good overview of the current situation of the organization and development wishes. Based on these results and knowledge base, a model for human resources communication was created. Based on the model and actual plan, HR communication can be developed, implemented, predicted and measured more efficiently and in a more organized manner. With the model, it is easy to adapt the communication plan to other HR functions, regardless of business or size of the organization.
