Tiivistelmä
Opinnäytetyön tarkoitus oli tuottaa käyttökelpoinen ja saavutettava oppimateriaali itsenäiseen opiskeluun tukiviittomavideoista muodostetun kokonaisuuden muodossa. Opinnäytetyö tehtiin yhteiskehittäen Ammattiopisto Liven AAC-työryhmän kanssa heidän tilauksestaan ja tarpeeseensa. Tämän kehittämispainotteisen opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli antaa TELMA-koulutuksen ohjaushenkilöstölle lisätyökaluja kommunikaatioon ja siten parantaa opiskelijoiden kommunikaatiota. Työhön ja itsenäiseen elämään valmentava koulutus on tarkoitettu erityistä tukea tarvitsevalle opiskelijalle, jolle ei ole sairauden tai vamman vuoksi ole mahdollista opiskella tutkintoon johtavassa koulutuksessa.
Opinnäytetyön teoriaosuudessa käsiteltiin kommunikaatiota puhetta tukevien ja korvaavien (augmentative and alternative) eli AAC-menetelmien, viittomakielen ja tukiviittomien kautta sekä saavutettavuutta lakien, säädösten, käytettävyyden sekä digitaalisen saavutettavuuden kautta. Materiaalin lisenssi antaa mahdollisuuden jatkokehittämiselle ja videoiden hyödyntämiselle muissakin projekteissa.
Opinnäytetyön menetelmänä oli video ja produktina tukiviittomavideoista koostettu Howspace-työtila. Raakamateriaali videoihin saatiin työn tilaajalta ja niiden pohjalta editoitiin 11 teemoitettua videota. Videoihin editoitiin viittoman nimi tekstinä, viittomakuva sekä toinen toisto viittomille. Lisäksi videoita hidastettiin hieman. Valmiista videoista koostettiin itseopiskeluun soveltuva Howspace-työtila ja verkkosivu. The goal of this development-oriented thesis was to give the staff of TELMA training, which is the programme for preparatory education for work and independent living, tools for communication and thus also improve the communication of the students. TELMA is a form of special needs education intended for learners who require special support because of illness or injury to achieve their personal goals and to develop their skills and competences. The aim of the thesis was to produce usable and accessible learning material for independent study in the form of keyword signing videos. The thesis was developed in collaboration with AAC group of the Live Vocational College based on their needs.
The thesis project produced videos and a Howspace platform to support the sign videos. The material for the videos was obtained from the client, and 11 themed videos were edited based on them. The videos were edited with the name of the sign as text, a picture of the sign and another repetition for the signs. In addition, the videos were slowed down. The Howspace workspace and website suitable for self-study were compiled from the finished videos.
The theoretical framework for the thesis based on literature and studies on communication through augmentative and alternative (augmentative and alternative) i.e. AAC methods, sign language and non-sign language, and accessibility through laws, regulations, usability, and digital accessibility. The license of the material gives the opportunity for further development and utilization of the videos in other projects.
