Tiivistelmä
Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli tuottaa ohjevideo rannekanavaoireyhtymän toimenpiteeseen tulevalle potilaalle. Videon tavoitteena oli tarjota ajantasaista digitaalista ohjausta toimenpiteeseen liittyen, lisätä potilaan tietoa omahoidosta sekä vähentää Tukielinkirurgian poliklinikalle tulevien yhteydenottojen määrää. Työ toteutettiin yhteistyössä Pohjois-Pohjanmaan hyvinvointialue Pohteen kanssa.
Opinnäytetyö tehtiin kehittämispainotteisena ja se perustui työelämän tarpeeseen sähköisistä potilasohjeista. Kehittämisprosessi eteni lineaarisen mallin mukaan vaiheittain: tavoitteen määrittely, suunnittelu, toteutus sekä päättäminen ja arviointi. Opinnäytetyön teoreettinen viitekehys on laadittu ajankohtaisen ja näyttöön perustuvan tutkimustiedon avulla. Aiheeseen perehdyttiin kirjallisuuden, tutkimusten ja työelämän ohjeistusten avulla. Lisäksi kävimme seuraamassa kirurgista toimenpidettä Tukielinkirurgian poliklinikalla.
Ohjevideon sisältö suunniteltiin työelämän edustajan toiveita kuunnellen ja siitä pyydettiin säännöllisesti palautetta prosessin eri vaiheissa. Videolla käsiteltiin toimenpiteeseen valmistautuminen, havainnollistettiin haavasidoksen koko sekä käytiin läpi kivunhoito ja haavanhoito. Lopussa kerrottiin tarvittavat yhteystiedot mahdollisia kysymyksiä varten. Videon oikeudet siirtyivät Pohteelle erillisen sopimuksen mukaisesti ja se julkaistiin Pohteen YouTube-kanavalle. The aim of this thesis was to produce an instructional video for patients who are planned to undergo carpal tunnel release. The aim of the video was to provide up-to-date digital guidance related to the procedure, to educate the patients about self-care, and to reduce the number of inquiries received by outpatient clinics. The work was carried out in collaboration with the wellbeing services county Pohde in North Ostrobothnia, Finland.
This development-oriented thesis was based on the practical need for digital patient instructions. The development process followed a linear model in stages: defining the objective, planning it, implementing it, finalizing it as well as evaluating it. The theoretical framework of the thesis was based on present-day, empirical research. The topic was explored through academic literature, studies, and workplace guidelines. Additionally, we observed a surgical procedure at one of Pohde outpatient clinics.
The content of the instructional video was designed in consultation with a representative from the workplace, and feedback was regularly collected throughout the process. The video covered preparation for the procedure and illustrated the size of the wound dressing. Furthermore, it instructed patients with pain management and wound care. At the end, necessary contact information was provided for any further questions. The rights to the video were transferred to Pohde under a separate agreement, and it was published on Pohde’s YouTube channel.
