Tiivistelmä
Tämän opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli lisätä avoimuutta ja tietoisuutta teho- ja valvontahoidosta sekä poistaa siihen liittyviä ennakkokäsityksiä. Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli tuottaa esittelyvideo Oulun yliopistollisen sairaalan tehohoitokeskuksen tarpeeseen. Video julkaistiin sairaalan verkkosivuilla ja YouTube-kanavalla. Esittelyvideo on tarkoitettu terveydenhuoltoalan ammattilaisille, potilaille sekä läheisille. Esittelyvideon avulla katsoja pääsee tutustumaan tehohoidon toimintaympäristöön ja näkee uuden tehohoitokeskuksen toimintaa.
Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin kehittämispainotteisena työnä lineaarisen mallin mukaisesti, joka eteni tavoitteen määrittelystä ja suunnittelusta toteutukseen ja arviointiin. Opinnäytetyössä käytettiin vertaisarvioitua tutkimustietoa sekä tuoreita hoitotieteellisiä lähteitä, jotka käsittelivät tehohoitopotilasta, hoitoympäristöä sekä läheisiä. Opinnäytetyön teoreettisen taustan avulla esittelyvideo saatiin vastaamaan potilaan ja läheisen tiedontarpeita.
Johtopäätöksenä todettiin esittelyvideon tukevan opinnäytetyön tavoitteita ja sen koettiin tuovan tärkeää tietoa helposti saataville. Sen arvioitiin olevan hyödyksi suunnitellusti tehohoitoa tarvitsevalle, hänen läheisilleen, sinne työllistyvälle ja kaikille aiheesta kiinnostuneille. Esittelyvideon saavutettavuus YouTube-verkkosivulla mahdollisti sen hyödyntämisen oppilaitoksen sairaanhoitajan syventävissä opinnoissa.

The purpose of the thesis was to produce an introductory video for the Intensive Care Unit of Oulu University Hospital. The video was published on the hospital’s website and YouTube channel. The video is intended for healthcare professionals, patients, and their relatives. Through the video, viewers are able to familiarize themselves with the intensive care environment and gain an understanding of the operations in the new ICU.
The thesis was carried out as a development-oriented project following a linear model, progressing from goal definition and planning to implementation and evaluation. Peer-reviewed research and recent nursing science literature concerning intensive care patients, care environments, and relatives were used as sources. Based on the theoretical background of the thesis, the video was designed to meet the informational needs of patients and their relatives

The conclusion was that the video supported the objectives of the thesis and made important information easily accessible. It was considered useful for patients in need of intensive care, their relatives, ICU staff, and anyone interested in the topic. The video’s accessibility on YouTube also unexpectedly enabled its use in advanced nursing studies at educational institutions.
