Työtä kohti kokeilemalla : työyhteisöpankki nuorten työpajalle

Abstract

Tämän kehittämispainotteisen opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli edistää NEET-statuksella (Not in employment, education or training) olevien nuorten elämäntilannetta ja mahdollistaa matalan kynnyksen siirtyminen työkokeilupaikkoihin. Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli etsiä työyhteisötahoja Omnian nuorten työpajalle ja muodostaa työyhteisöpankki. Työyhteisöpankin avulla Omnian nuorten työpajan ohjaajat pystyisivät tarjoamaan nuorille kiinnostavia työkokeilupaikkoja.

Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin lineaarisen mallin mukaisesti. Opinnäytetyöprosessissa kartoitettiin mahdollisia työkokeilupaikkoja Espoon alueelta. Yhteydenotot kohdennettiin työaloihin, joihin Omnian nuorten työpajatoiminta liittyy. Prosessin tukena toteutettiin kysely Omnian nuorten työpajoilla oleville nuorille, jossa selvitettiin heitä kiinnostavia työaloja. Kyselyn tulosten perusteella valittuja yrityksiä ja yhdistyksiä lähestyttiin sähköpostitse.

Mukaan tulleista yrityksistä ja yhdistyksistä muodostettiin työyhteisöpankki Excel-taulukkoon, johon kirjattiin mahdolliset työtehtävät, yhteyshenkilö, sekä muut yhteistyötahojen mahdolliset toiveet työkokeilusta. Tuotoksen kautta Omnian nuorten työpajan ohjaajat pystyivät ohjaamaan nuoria tutustumaan työkokeilun kautta työalaan, joka nuoria innosti.

Saimme tuotua esiin piilossa olevia työkokeilupaikkoja olemalla yhteydessä yrityksiin ja yhdistyksiin sekä luotua mahdollisuuksia nuorille verkostoitua ja kartoittaa mahdollisia tulevaisuuden koulutus- tai urapolkuja. Työyhteisöpankin avulla on myös mahdollista tukea nuorten siirtymistä Omnian nuorten työpajalta muuhun ohjattuun toimintaan.

The aim of this development-oriented thesis was to advance the life situation of youth with NEET-status (Not in employment, education, or training) and enable a low-threshold transition to work try-outs. The purpose of the thesis was to find work communities for the Omnia youth workshop and to form a work community bank. With the help of the work community bank, the Omnia youth workshop instructors would be able to guide youth to work try-outs that interest the youth.

The thesis was implemented through the linear model process. The process of this thesis consisted of narrowing down possible work trial places in Espoo area and focusing on contacts of the fields of work that Omnia youth workshop offered workshop activities for. To aid the narrowing of the possible fields of work to contact, a survey was conducted for the youth in Omnia youth workshop, which investigated the fields of work that interested young people. Companies and associations that fit the narrowing down were approached via email.

A work community bank was created in an Excel-spreadsheet from companies and associations that were interested in cooperation. The spreadsheet consisted on information of the work tasks, contact persons and other wishes regarding the work try-out. With the aid of the work community bank, Omnia's youth workshop instructors can guide young people to work try-outs and aid the youth to get to know a field of work that excites them.

By contacting companies and associations in the Espoo area, we were able to uncover hidden work try-out possibilities and create opportunities for young people to network and explore possible future educational or career paths. The work community bank also supports young people's transition from Omnia's youth workshop to other structured activities.
