Maahanmuuttajien seksuaaliterveyden edistäminen

Abstract

Maahanmuuttajien seksuaaliterveyden ja turvataitojen edistämisen hankkeen 2015–2016 (MAUSTE-hanke) tavoitteena oli tehostaa maahanmuuttajien sekä heidän parissaan työskentelevien ammattihenkilöiden seksuaaliterveyden ja turvataitojen edistämisen osaamista. Kehittämistyön ydinperiaatteina toimivat ihmis- ja seksuaalioikeudet. Oikeudet on nähty globaalisti perusteena kaikelle seksuaali- ja lisääntymisterveyden edistämisen työlle. MAUSTE-hanke toteutettiin yhteistyössä Savonia ammattikorkeakoulun kanssa. Sosiaali- ja terveysministeriö rahoitti Terveyden edistämisen määrärahoista hanketta. Pääpaino hankkeessa oli ennaltaehkäisevissä, voimavaralähtöisissä, osallistavissa ja tasa-arvoa edistävissä tuotoksissa. Maahanmuuttajien näkemyksiä seksuaaliterveyden edistämisestä selvitettiin hankkeen alussa. Saatuja tuloksia hyödynnettiin asiantuntijoiden suunnittelemassa koulutuksessa sekä maahanmuuttajien ryhmätyöskentelyssä. Ammattikorkeakoulut voivat opetuksessaan toteuttaa pilottikoulutusmallia. Maahanmuuttajille suunnatuista ryhmistä saatuja kokemuksia eri ammattilaiset voivat hyödyntää seksuaaliterveyden edistämisen ryhmätyöskentelyssä. Uusia materiaalejasyntyi niin maahanmuuttajille kuin ammattihenkilöille ohjaukseen (www.jamk.fi/mauste). Hankkeen tulosten arvioinnissa näkyi ammattihenkilöiden sekä maahanmuuttajien seksuaaliterveyden- ja turvataitotietouden osaamisen lisääntyminen.

The goal of the Promotion of Immigrants’ Sexual Health and Safety Skills (2015–2016) project (MAUSTE-project) was to enhance the skills of sexual health promotion in the immigrants and in the professionals working with them. The core principles of the project were functional human and sexual rights. These rights have been recognized globally as a principle for all work in the field of sexual and reproductive health. The MAUSTE-project was executed in co-operation with Savonia University of Applied Sciences. The project was funded by the Social and Health Ministry from the allowances for Health Promotion. The main emphasis was on preventive, resource-based, participating and equality promoting work. In the beginning of the project, the views of the immigrants’ regarding sexual health promotion were clarified. The results were used in the trainings planned by the professionals as well as in the group works targeted for the immigrants’. The Universities of Applied Sciences can implement the pilot training-model in their own education. The experiences received from the groups targeted for the immigrants, can be used by different professionals in their own sexual health- group works. New materials were produced not only for the immigrants, but also for the professionals to be used in their own work. The results of the project were seen as an increase, in both the immigrants’ and the professionals’, sexual health and safety skills.
