The trade war between the US and China has been a controversial topic these days since President Trump ignited it by imposing a tariff on imported goods from China. The trade war will be the core theme of this thesis.
The main objective of this thesis is to get an in-depth understanding of the influences of the US-China trade war, especially the South-Asia countries. The author wants to show the reader how essential trade relations between China and the US towards the global trade order. In this case, the author can only present the case of a Vietnamese company in the scene of the trade war. The author believes this research will be a foundation for further study in the future.
Moreover, the thesis will be conducted by deductive reasoning. It addresses all the relevant theoretical parts concerning the trade relations between China and the US through literature reviews. Besides, the author also analyzes the influences of the real case of big corporations from China and the US. After that, the insight view of the case company Seditex Vietnam is provided in this thesis as the empirical findings for the research. The empirical findings are collected by interviewing the director of Sedi-tex Vietnam.
According to the study result, the influences of the trade war have exposed explicitly in the case company. Trade war has made Seditex Vietnam struggle with their quality control and consulting services. Moreover, the research findings provide a broader scene for South-East Asia countries to adapt to the trend of the trade war. It is also a foundation for further research on the larger scope such as Vietnamese economy, and other South-East Asia countries.
