Tiivistelmä
Tässä opinnäytetyössä perehdytään kuvamateriaalin käyttöön animaatioissa. Työssä tutkitaan sovelluslähtöisiä tapoja, jotka mahdollistavat liikkumattomien kuvien käytön materiaalina digitaalisten animaatioiden luomisessa. Tavoite ja työn toiminnallinen osuus on toteuttaa lyriikkavideo Art of the Black Blood -yhtyettä varten.
Työssä analysoidaan Photoshopin ja After Effectsin tärkeimpiä ominaisuuksia laadukkaan animaation toteuttamisen työkaluina. Siinä selvitetään myös ohjelmien käyttöön liittyviä keskeisiä käsitteitä ja toimintoja. Työprosessi esitellään niin lähdeaineiston tietopohjan kuin projektin aikana tekemieni oivallusten avulla. In this thesis, the use of image-based footage in animation is analysed. Software-oriented means that allow the use of still images as material for the creation of digital animations are examined. The goal and the functional part of the thesis are to produce a lyric video for the band Art of the Black Blood.
The principal features of After Effects and Photoshop are analysed as tools for creating high quality animation. The key concepts and functions of these programs are also explained. The work process is presented both by reflecting on the knowledge base garnered through source material, and the personal insight gained throughout the process.
