The rapid growth and deployment of the internet of things (IoT) technology have enabled various technical developments in different areas. IoT solutions are primarily targeted at increasing productivity in multiple industries, maintaining improved systems performance, and eventually enhancing life quality. For the public, sustainability has become a significant concern where IoT technology's fast growth provides numerous useful benefits. Although from an environmental point of view, this rapid development must be fully monitored and assessed to minimize adverse effects and ensure the wise use of scarce global resources.
The primary focus is to find out the possible implication of the internet of things on sustainability. Various application areas of IoT technologies have been mentioned in this thesis. The research approach is primarily based on a comprehensive literature review to determine the possible implication of the internet of things on sustainability.
