Tiivistelmä
This study aims to research international trade development barriers for immigrant entrepreneurs in Finland and answer to the research questions which are referring to the lack of network and language barriers.
In this research the method was implemented with a semi-structured interview and the focus group was10 immigrant entrepreneurs and the KOKOMA project report and project director’s interview as supporting evidence.
After conducting the interviews with different business owners, experienced people and the analysis of the materials gathered, helped this research to develop a diagram representing the interconnected elements and their interactions: network, trust, language skills, and understanding of regulations.
The research concluded that the lack of network was noticeable for immigrant entrepreneurs to build trust in the host country beyond their ethnicity and understanding the regulations of the host country requires language proficiency during business development and entrepreneurship.
The recommendation of this research focuses on the foundation of a network platform that can work as an essential institution for immigrant entrepreneurs to develop trading opportunities in Finland and proficiency of language for the accurate understanding of regulations to maintain and expand their trade/business. It should be mentioned that the authorized organization and associations can play an important role in this regard.
