Tiivistelmä
Opinnäytetyön aiheena oli korujen tunnearvo. Työssä tutkittiin mitkä asiat tekevät koruista meille tärkeitä ja miksi niistä on niin vaikea luopua. Samalla pohdittiin myös sitä, onko niiden tunnearvoon mahdollista vaikuttaa tietoisesti.
Aiheeseen perehdyttiin kirjallisten lähteiden ja kyselytutkimuksen avulla. Lisäksi hyödynnettiin kirjoittajan omia kokemuksia työharjoittelusta, sekä hänen käymiään keskusteluita lähipiirinsä kanssa.
Kolmen eri sormuksen muokkaamisesta tehtiin suunnitelmat asiakkaiden omien toiveiden mukaan. Tavoitteena oli lisätä näiden korujen tunnearvoa. Kahden sormuksen suunnitelmat toteutettiin, ja kolmannesta tehtiin luonnoksia myöhempää valmistamista varten. Lopuksi asiakkaita pyydettiin kertomaan, kuinka he kokevat muutoksien vaikuttaneen korujensa tunnearvoon.
Yhteenvedossa käytiin läpi, mitä uutta kirjoittaja on oppinut aiheesta, mikä on ollut yllättävää ja kuinka hän aikoo hyödyntää saamaansa tietoa jatkossa. The topic of the thesis was the sentimental value of jewellery. It investigated what are the things that make jewellery important for us and why it is hard to give them away. The thesis also considered whether it is possible to influence the sentimental value of jewellery consciously.
The thesis topic was explored by reviewing literature and completing a questionnaire. In addition, the author utilized her own internship experience and the discussions she has had with her inner circle.
The plan of the thesis was to modify three different rings according to the clients’ wishes. The aim was to add to the sentimental value of these pieces of jewellery. Two rings were completed and the drafts of the third one were finished in order to finalize the ring later. In the end of the process, the clients were asked to report how the modifications had changed the sentimental value of their jewellery in their opinion.
The conclusion indicated what the author has learned from the thesis topic, what was surprising and how she will utilize the knowledge she has gained on the course of writing the thesis.
