Hand hygiene has been a topical issue in the present world today due to the outbreak of coronavirus in the world. The widespread of corona virus is not limited to the hospitals and recreational centres but also in the school environment and several students have been infected with the virus. As the role of nurses in public health is to promote, protect and prevent infectious diseases.
The poster showing the various process involved in handwashing would be a great benefit to the students at LAB University of Applied Sciences. It will serve as a reminder to maintain the proper hand hygiene and improve overall health safety by preventing the transmission of corona virus and various infectious diseases.
The bachelor thesis is aimed towards designing and producing a poster so, that the students are aware of proper hand hygiene procedure. The purpose of the functional thesis is to prevent the spread of covid-19 and all other infectious diseases in LAB University of Applied Sciences. The the-sis is actualized in cooperation with LAB University of Applied Sciences. The thesis was implement-ed as a practise-based using PDSA model (plan, Do, Study and Action). Data were gathered through an online workshop and analysed using the thematic analysing method.
A development proposal for the future can include creating a portable sticker, pamphlet, guidebook as a free souvenir to the students and this will serve as a reminder and self-study material to maintain proper hand hygiene procedure.
