Tiivistelmä
The thesis researches the current state-of-the-art in applications that pairs vision-based sensors and artificial intelligence. The thesis is commissioned by the LAB University of Applied Sciences artificial intelligence team. The thesis covers the background of different fields, how they utilize artificial intelligence, what benefits does arti-ficial intelligence bring and how can artificial intelligence be used in the future.
After the introduction of the thesis, the thesis gives a brief overview of artificial intelligence, machine learning and neural networks. After this, the thesis goes over applications in different fields. The 4th part of the thesis goes through future applications that are concepts or that field already being developed. In the conclusion of the thesis, the main parts of the thesis are summarized, and a new direction of research is suggested.
The purpose of the thesis was to provide a sufficiently comprehensive overview of vision-based artificial intelligence applications, to promote ideas to how to use artificial intelligence to fields where it is not yet fully utilized.
