Varpasaaren kehittämissuunnitelma

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli tuottaa Imatralla sijaitsevaa Varpasaarta ja sen lähiympäristöä koskeva kehittämissuunnitelma. Kehittämissuunnitelman tarkoitus on toimia runkona alueella tapahtuvalle muutostyölle sekä suunnittelutyölle. Työn toimeksiantajana toimi Vuoksen Lautturi Oy, joka on Varpasaaren alueella toimiva matkailualan yritys.

Työn tiedonhaussa käytettiin aiempia aluetta koskevia suunnitelmia sekä useita internet-lähteitä. Alueen havainnoinnissa käytettiin hyödyksi alueesta kuvattuja dronevideoita. Tärkeitä huomioita alueen kehittämisessä oli vetovoimaisuuden parantaminen sekä yhtenäisen ja toimivan rakenteen toteuttaminen.

Työn tuloksena saatiin luotua kattava kehittämissuunnitelma sekä yleispiirteinen aluesuunnitelma alueesta. Työn aikana esille nousi asioita, joita alueen jatkosuunnittelussa tulee huomioida.

The purpose of the thesis was to produce a development plan for the Varpasaari area in Imatra and its immediate surroundings. The purpose of the development plan is to serve as a basis for future planning work in the area. The thesis was commissioned by Vuoksen Lautturi Ltd which is a tourism company operating in the Varpasaari area.

Previous plans in the area as well as network sources have been used as sources for the thesis. The drone videos filmed from the area were used as observations. Important considerations in the development of the area were the improvement of attractiveness and the implementation of a unified and functional structure.

As a result of the work, a comprehensive development plan and a general area plan were created. During the work, issues were raised that should be considered in the further planning of the area.
