Tiivistelmä
The purpose of the thesis was to find out how digitalization has affected and is affecting the jobs in the banking industry. Digitalization is affecting businesses more and more every day, and it will have an impact especially on jobs that can be replaced by machinery, robots or with some other digital systems. The study examined in particular the employees' perspective on the changes brought about by digitalization.
The literature review is divided into two parts, the first of which provides a better understanding of the effects of digitalization in the banking industry, and the second part examines in more detail the different possibilities of robotics and how they can replace human labour. To get more specific understanding on the topic various books, online sources, as well as previous researches were studied. In the empirical part, there were five employees interviewed who currently work in a bank and set out their views on the current situation. The results showed that employees also see the future as positive and they can’t wait to see how digitalization will shape the banking industry.
