After some operations, pain lasts for a long time, has many complications, and cannot use pain medication for a long time. For example: joint replacement surgery, the postoperative complications of this operation are long duration of pain, slow recovery time, high infection rate, and even more serious diseases, long time for medical treatment, and many medical complications.
The pain assessment of adults is different from that of children and the elderly, the level of pain tolerance, the assessment method and the treatment method are different, we have found pain assessment tools and the literature that analyzed the practicality and usage of each pain assessment tool. Through analysis and research, 9 kinds of pain assessment tools suitable for adults were finally selected.
Drugs cannot be used for a long time, and the patient’s pain is prolonged. Nursing staff need to take correct non-drug care, to relieve the patient’s pain and increase the recovery effect, however, due to the different living habits and beliefs of patients, it is difficult to find the correct non-drug pain relief. (Sikawa, Leila 2018, 4) This article is aimed at adults after surgery. Pain assessment and care, mainly describes the non-drug care methods for postoperative pain. In this article, nurses can learn more about non-medicinal care of pain, and adults can get their own care methods. As one of the adults, I deeply feel that there are many factors that can cause the misunderstanding of postoperative pain. For example, you can't make your elders worry, you can't make children feel scared, the level of pain tolerance increases, and the pain will decrease; pain medicines are expensive; psychological effects increase the pain, and so on. I am very interested in finding more non-medicinal pain relief methods to relieve the embarrassment of adults.
