Tiivistelmä
10–19-vuotiaiden lasten mielenterveysongelmien on todettu lisääntyneen viime vuosina. Suomessa jopa 4–11 % nuorista kärsii jonkinlaisesta ahdistuneisuushäiriöstä. Erilaiset psykofyysiset fysioterapiaharjoitteet on todettu hyödyllisiksi osana mielenterveysongelmien hoitoa.
Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli tuottaa Päijät-Hämeen keskussairaalan lastenosaston henkilökunnalle opas, johon oli koottu erilaisia psykofyysisen fysioterapian harjoitteita. Tarkoituksena oli luoda harjoitteita, jotka suunnattiin 12–17-vuotiaille lapsille ja nuorille, osaksi ahdistuksen tai kehonkuvan muutoksen hoitoa. Tarvittaessa oppaan harjoitteita voidaan käyttää myös osana stressin tai pitkittyneen kivun hoitoa.
Opinnäytetyön kirjallisen osuuden on tarkoitus tarjota henkilökunnalle lisätietoa psykofyysisen fysioterapian eri menetelmistä, valitun asiakasryhmän kehityksestä sekä ahdistuksen ja kehonkuvan muutoksen haasteista.
Toiminnallisen opinnäytetyön tuotoksena syntyi opas, joka sisältää erilaisia hengitykseen sekä kehonkuvan muutokseen liittyviä harjoituksia. Tuotos luovutettiin toimeksiantajan käyttöön sähköisenä sekä paperisena versiona. Lisäksi opas ja sen käyttö käytiin esittelemässä osaston henkilökunnalle ennen käyttöönottoa. In recent years there has been an increase in mental health problems among children aged 10-19. In Finland, as many as 4-11 % of young people suffers from anxiety disorder. Various psychophysical physiotherapy exercises have found to be useful as a part of the treatment in mental health problems.
The goal of the thesis was to produce guide of psychophysical physiotherapy exercises for children’s wards employees of Päijät-Häme central hospital. The purpose of the thesis was to create exercises which were directed to children and adolescents aged 12-17. Exercises are intended for controlling of anxiety and strengthening of body image. Exercises of the guide could be used as a part of the treatment in stress or prolonged pain.
The theory part of the thesis is intended to provide the employees more information about the different methods of psychophysical physiotherapy, development of selected client group and the challenges of anxiety and body image change.
The practice guide that was created with the thesis contains various exercises related to breathing and body image change. The practice guide was handed over to the client in electronic and paper versions. In addition, the practice guide and its use were presented to children’s ward employees before implementation.
