Motocross is one of the most challenging sports in the world. And sponsorship plays an essential role in the sport.
This research was focused on analyzing the motocross industry by studying marketing and event-sponsorship-related theories, and conducting empirical research on the 2011-2021 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship series.
Through the empirical data analysis was concluded ‘What companies are presented the most in the current supercross event-sponsorship market’.
The summary of the thesis describes the characteristics of the most relevant companies for motocross (supercross) sponsorship.
As a result of the research, a new event-fit model was created. The event-fit model is aimed at assessing the relevance of the sponsoring company to the event. The model can be used in any sponsorship-related academic study.
Sports sponsorship studies are sharing similar causes and effects. The research findings can be applied to any motorsports and sports sponsorship studies.
The thesis can be used as a practical guidebook for companies interested in sponsorship.
