The thesis focused on studying the optimal way to implement .Net based REST API that is connected to Salesforce and can utilize its data. Moreover, the thesis compared two different options for implementation, which were Salesforce generated Enterprise WSDL and its SOAP API, and the second option was Salesforce Toolkit for the .Net framework. The research implemented the Toolkit due to its better performance but also utilized WSDLs generated entities.
The thesis compared connecting Active Directory and Azure Active Directory to Salesforce. Moreover, the thesis connected Azure Active Directory to Salesforce and configured Salesforce’s login to go through the Azure AD. Utilized this authentication to authorize users to the REST API.
