Money plays a key part in modern lifestyle and is strongly linked with success and quality of life. That is why understanding money and investing are a key factor in having a good and prosperous life.
A lot of studies about investing have been made, so instead of repeating what others have made, the thesis focused more on the psychological aspects of investing, specifically, what kind of factors affect investors’ decisions.
The research of the thesis was conducted with quantitative approach, questionnaire, which had a total of 34 respondents. The questionnaire included a total of 12 questions, ranging from popular assets and risk tolerance to goals and motives of respondents. As a support for the research, a wide range of secondary data was used from existing literature and previous research.
The main finding of the thesis and the research was, that most of the investing decisions made by investors are driven by just few motives like safety, or competition. The research also showed the popularity of different types of assets among young investors, as well as their financial goals in life. The most popular assets were mutual funds, stocks, and cryptocurrencies and the most popular goals were protection from risks and extra income.
