Tiivistelmä
The goal of this thesis is to investigate the primary processes of business planning and apply the acquired knowledge to the creation of an actual business plan for a Pizza House restaurant in Joensuu, Finland. The purpose of this research is to give data supporting the need for a meticulously planned business, market research, and financial planning strategies and operations. Everyone contemplating opening their own restaurant should be prepared to put in long hours of difficult and demanding work, which will ultimately afford them the opportunity to develop a profitable enterprise.

Various literary sources were used as the theoretical framework to analyze business and management strategies in the context of the restaurant business. This mostly involved quantitative research, which was done by taking two types of online surveys by Google Forms. One reviewed customers' opinions, and the second was from restaurants' points of view. Both surveys were focused on analyzing the market condition, especially for new entrants. Furthermore, the thesis report also includes a financial forecast regarding the monthly and capital expenses of a planned restaurant, which is an important factor in the implementation of a business plan.

As a result, the key information gathered indicates that the business strategy is useful enough to bring in new customers and support the use of appropriate marketing methods. Finally, we arrive at the opinion that it is difficult to create a company without a detailed business plan and that businesspeople should develop a business strategy while engaging in their first commercial transaction.
