Tiivistelmä
Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena on tuottaa tietoa vanhemman väsymykseen ja siihen vaikuttaviin tekijöihin liittyen. Tavoitteena on saada asiakkaiden ääni kuuluviin, mikä mahdollistaa Kymsoten perheiden sosiaalityön toiminnan kehittämistä. Opinnäytetyö on tutkimuksellinen. Opinnäytetyön menetelmänä on laadullinen eli kvalitatiivinen tutkimus. Opinnäytetyön tutkimuskysymys on: Millaiset tekijät altistavat vanhemman väsymykselle? Opinnäytetyössä tarkastellaan väsymystä yksilöiden kokemusten kautta. Tutkimuksen kohteena olivat Kymsoten perheiden sosiaalityön asiakasperheiden vanhemmat. Tutkimus toteutettiin laadullisena kyselytutkimuksena.
Opinnäytetyön teoreettinen viitekehys käsittelee vanhemmuuden uupumusta ja väsymystä pienten lasten vanhempien keskuudessa, perhe-elämää kuormittavia tekijöitä sekä koronapandemian vaikutuksia vanhemman jaksamiseen. Tutkimuksen aineisto kerättiin huhtikuussa 2022 Webropol-alustalla teetetyllä anonyymilla kyselyllä vanhempien jaksamiseen liittyen. Kysely lähetettiin Kymsoten lapsiperheiden sosiaalityön asiakasperheiden vanhemmille, joilla on vähintään yksi 1–6-vuotias lapsi. Kyselyyn vastasi neljä äitiä. Aineisto analysoitiin käyttäen laadulliselle tutkimusmenetelmälle ominaisia teemoittelua ja sisällönanalyysia.
Tutkimustulosten perusteella vanhempien jaksaminen näyttäytyy erilaisena. Vanhemmat kokevat vireystilan vaihtelevana. The purpose of the thesis was to provide information of parents’ tiredness and fatigue factors. The aim was to make the customers' voices heard which enables the development of activities for the Kymsote families’ social work. The thesis was researchable and methods of the thesis was qualitative. The research question of the thesis was: What kind of factors predispose a parent to fatigue? The thesis looked at fatigue through the experiences of individuals. The research focused on the client parents of Kymsote families’ social work. The study was carried out as a qualitative survey.
The theoretical framework of the thesis deals with the exhaustion and fatigue of parenthood among parents of young children, factors that burden family life and the effects of the corona-virus pandemic on a parent's coping. The survey was conducted using an anonymous questionnaire on the Webropol platform. The survey was conducted in April 2022. The survey was sent to the client parents of Kymsote famillies’ social work with children who have at least one child aged 1–6 years. Four mothers responded to the questionnaire. The data was analysed using themes and content analysis characteristic of the qualitative research method.
The results of the research indicate that parents' coping is variable. Children's behavioural problems, but also external factors such as lack of help, cause fatigue. In summary of the research results, the parent's coping is burdened by a lack of help, a lack of support networks, the parenting of special children, problems with children's behaviour, a larger number of children, due to the reconciliation of work, family and studies and arising from the coronavirus pandemic.
