Hyvinvoiva lapsiryhmä varhaiskasvatuksessa

Abstract

Päiväkodin toimintaympäristössä ryhmä on sen perusyksikkö, kasvattajat ja lapset toimivat siinä yhdessä päiväkodin struktuurien ja pedagogiikan vaikuttaessa koko ajan taustalla. Opinnäytetyön tarkoitus oli selvittää varhaiskasvattajien ja erityisesti vastaavien opettajien näkemyksiä lapsiryhmien hyvinvoinnista. Opettajien näkemyksiä siksi, koska heillä on pedagoginen vastuu lapsiryhmästä sekä siihen vaadittava koulutus. Opinnäytetyön tarkoitus oli kartoittaa, miten lasten hyvinvointia varhaiskasvatuksen ryhmissä voidaan lisätä, millä tavoin lasten hyvinvointi ryhmissä näkyy ja miten ryhmädynamiikalla voidaan vaikuttaa lasten kokemaan hyvinvointiin varhaiskasvatuksen ryhmissä. Opinnäytetyön tarkoitus oli tarkastella myös, millaista ammatillista osaamista tarvitaan lasten hyvinvoinnin edistämiseksi varhaiskasvatuksen ryhmissä. Tavoitteena oli herättää kiinnostusta lasten hyvinvointia kohtaan varhaiskasvatuksen ryhmissä, edistää lasten hyvinvointia varhaiskasvatuksen ryhmissä ja toimia ammatillisuuden kehittämisvälineenä varhaiskasvatushenkilöstölle.

Tutkimusmenetelmäksi valikoitui kvalitatiivinen tutkimusmenetelmä ja aineistonkeruumenetelmäksi teemahaastattelu. Haastateltiin neljää varhaiskasvatuksen opettajaa kahdesta eri päiväkodista pääkaupunkiseudulla. Haastattelut toteutettiin yksilöhaastatteluina. Tietoperusta johdettiin ryhmää, ryhmädynamiikkaa, lapsen sosialisaatiota, osallisuutta, yhteisöllisyyttä ja kiusaamisilmiötä käsittelevistä tutkimuksista ja tietokirjallisuudesta. Haastattelut analysoitiin teoriaohjaavalla sisällönanalyysilla. Keskeisinä tuloksina nousivat esille varhaiskasvattajien vuorovaikutustaitojen merkitys, varhaiskasvattajien osallisuus lapsiryhmässä, sosiaalisten taitojen opettaminen, ryhmädynamiikan havainnointi ja siihen vaikuttaminen sekä toimiva työyhteisö. Lasten hyvinvointi varhaiskasvatuksen ryhmissä edellyttää varhaiskasvattajalta hyviä vuorovaikutus- ja tiimityötaitoja sekä halua ammatilliseen kehittymiseen. Lapset voivat hyvin ryhmissä, joissa heillä on luottamukselliset vuorovaikutussuhteet kasvattajiin. Hyvinvoivan lapsiryhmän ilmapiiri on myönteinen, lapsia autetaan sosiaalisten taitojen harjoittelemisessa ja huolehditaan siitä, että jokaisella lapsella on ainakin yksi kaveri ryhmässä. Opinnäytetyön tuloksia voidaan käyttää esimerkiksi varhaiskasvatuksen tiimipalavereissa, joissa tarkoituksena on työyhteisön reflektoiva kehittäminen.

The group is the main subject in the environments of the early childhood education, the early childhood educators operate with the children surrounded by the structures and the pedagogy influencing in the background. The purpose of my thesis was to investigate the views and the experience of the early childhood educators and especially the views of the early childhood educators who are responsible for the groups. They are responsible for the pedagogy and they have the required professionalism. The aim of this Bachelor`s thesis was to examine how to increase the welfare of the children in the early childhood education groups, in what ways the welfare of the children is displayed and how the group dynamics can affect the wellbeing experienced by the children in the early childhood education groups when the purpose is to increase the welfare. The purpose of the thesis was also to investigate which kind of professionalism is needed, when increasing the welfare of the children in the groups of the early childhood education. The aim was to arise the interest in the welfare of the children in the early childhood education groups, increase the welfare of children in the early childhood education groups and to be the professional development tool for the early childhood educators.

The survey was carried out using qualitive research method and as a collection method was used theme interview. Four early childhood educators were interviewed from two different kindergarten in the metropolitan area. The interviews were individual interviews. The knowledge base was derived from the researched information dealing with the groups, the group dynamics, the socialization of child, the participation, the communality and the bullying phenomenon. The interviews were analyzed by using the theory-driving content analysis. The results showed the importance of the interaction skills of the early childhood educators, the importance of the participation of the early childhood educator in the early childhood education group, teach children the social skills, the perception of the group dynamics and affect group dynamics and the importance of the functioning work community. The welfare of the children in the early childhood education groups requires good interaction skills and good collaboration skills from the early childhood educators and the motivation to professional development. The children are feeling welfare in the groups, where they have confidential interactions with early childhood educators. The atmosphere in the wellbeing group is positive, the children are helped in training the social skills and the early childhood educators are taking care that every child has at least one friend in the group. The results of the thesis can be used for example in the team meetings in the early childhood education, where the aim is to develop the work community by reflecting.
