Elderly people are more endanger to fall. Falls are the main causes of physical disability and death in the elderly. One out of three elderly people are at risk of fall.
The purpose of this thesis was to highlight the main causes, risk factor and prevention of fall in elderly people through PDSA model. The idea is to create a guidebook for the nurses working with elderly people and create awareness on them regarding the consequences of fall.
This thesis was written under the guidelines of LAB University. Evidence-based material was used to assess the risk factors of falls in the elderly. The guidebook was created according to the need of commissioning party. The material in the guidebook is beneficial for the nurses working with elderly people or in home care. This topic was chosen looking at the consequences of fall and with the hope to minimize the fall risk.
