Risk Management in Transportation (Case: Truck Transportation from Finland to Russia)

Abstract

This thesis research is a student’s graduation work. Several objectives were set and achieved in the thesis. Research consisted of introduction part, theoretical part, practi-cal part with empirical results and conclusion. The objectives of the study were the following: point out the risks in transportation by trucks, find out how logistics companies handle risks, categorize risks and finally make recommendations for further work of logistics companies. The framework was constructed by searching, analyzing and reading different articles, materials, scientific magazines to collect information on the risks in truck transporta-tion. In the practical part there were results based on the interviews that were done with CEO of Avind International OY and Omega-Trans OY. Finally, conclusion was writ-ten with recommendations for further work of transport companies.
