Nowadays the sphere of offshore wind energy takes a lot of attention as it opens a lot of abilities for renewable energy. There are a lot of projects which are planned to be realised in the nearest future and a lot of companies try to model these constructions based on information that is collected from the wind farms which are already in use.
This thesis is about comparing different types of foundations for offshore wind farms and their main construction principles. Also, one of the purposes is to make the re search about projects which are currently in use based on literature and interviews of engineers.
Thesis report consists of several main parts: history and main principles of working of offshore wind turbines, examples of usage in different parts of the world, types of foundations, which can be used in different water depths and developing of floating technology for foundations.
